Litter-Free Hetta-Pallas Hiking Trail
The Hetta-Pallas Hiking Trail is now officially litter-free and all waste bins has been removed from the trail. Take your own trash out of the terrain to eco-points at the Fell Lapland Visitor Centre or the Pallastunturi Visitor Centre.

Northern Lapland Region, Municipality of Enontekiö, Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park
The wilderness hut is situated 1 km east of the Hetta-Pallas Trail on the trail leading to Ketomella. The hut is 20 km from Hetta and 37 km from Pallas.
A stove, a gas cooker, a dry toilet and a wood shed.
The peak seasons for this hut are Easter holidays and the autumn´s ruska season.
The wilderness hut is located close to the Näkkälä herding co-operative's reindeer fence and is therefore often used by herders.
Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.
Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.
There are no waste management services at the hut. The goal of the National Park is to be a litter-free area and hikers are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas, Pallastunturi Visitor Centre and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
Maintenance and Management
Tourist entrepreneurs operating in national parks or other areas managed by Metsähallitus need a cooperation agreement. A fee is charged for using the routes and service infrastructure for business activities.
