Welcome to Saimaa Nature Centre Riihisaari
The historical setting of Olavinlinna Castle, surrounded by the scenic Lake Saimaa, makes Lake Saimaa Nature- and Museum Centre Riihisaari a unique destination, where Savonlinna Provincal Museum and Metsähallitus operate together. Riihisaari is a meeting place and an exhibition centre, providing experiences and information on the region's cultural history and natural landscape year-round.

Location: Situated at the eastern end of Linnankatu street in the old town of Savonlinna (savonlinna.fi), next to Olavinlinna Castle (kansallismuseo.fi/en/olavinlinna).

Visit: Open daily throughout the year. Free entrance to the Museum Shop and hiking info point, but exhibitions are subject to a fee. Read more (savonlinna.fi/riihisaari)
Things to Do and See: The main exhibition: In the heart of Saimaa , temporary exhibitions, events, a short film on the Saimaa ringed seal. Read more. In the summer, museum ships are moored at the pier by Riihisaari and open to visitors.
Suitability: An fascinating destination for visitors of all ages. Suitable for visitors with mobility difficulties. Pets are not permitted in the Nature Centre.
