Saimaa Nature Centre Riihisaari

Liminganlahti Nature Centre is closed 1.1.-4.2.2022. The Finnish Nature Centre Haltia is closed 10.1.–1.2.2022. Koli Nature Centre Ukko is closed 1.1.–26.1.2022. Kuusamo Customer Service Karhuntassu is closed 13.1.–31.1.2022.

In other nature centers in Finland, we require the use of a facial mask and keeping the 2 meter distance to other visitors. In addition, there may be requirements to show the Covid pass, and/or the number of visitors can be limited. More information Nature centers. The length of the restrictions depends on the region. Welcome to Saimaa Nature Centre Riihisaari

The historical setting of Olavinlinna Castle, surrounded by the scenic Lake Saimaa, makes Lake Saimaa Nature Centre Riihisaari a unique destination, where Savonlinna Museum and Metsähallitus operate together. Riihisaari is a meeting place and an exhibition centre, providing experiences and information on the region's cultural history and natural landscape year-round.

In July daily 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Closed: 15.4., 24.–25.6., 6.12. and 19.–24.12.2022.

Things to Do and See: The main exhibition: In the heart of Saimaa, temporary exhibitions, events, a short film on the Saimaa ringed seal. Read more. In the summer, museum ships are moored at the pier by Riihisaari and open to visitors with the same entrance fee. 

Suitability: A fascinating destination for visitors of all ages. Accessible. Pets are not permitted in the Nature Centre.
