Campfire Sites

  • Ängesböle campsite at Byabäcken has a campfire site and lean-to-shelter
  • Kalkinpolttaja nature trail has Kalkkiruukki a fireplace, lean-to-shelter and little sleeping shelter (old firewood shed)
  • Storträsk has a accessible cooking shelter
  • Bisajärvi has a cooking shelter

Please note that lighting campfires is also forbidden at campfire sites if the forest fire warning or the grass fire warning is in effect. Check the current warnings (en.ilmatieteenlaitos.fi). This prohibition does not apply to cooking shelters or other fireplaces with a shelter and a flue.

 

Waste Management

  • The outdoors destinations within the nature reserve do not have waste bins. It is the responsibility of each hiker to dispose of waste that accumulates during your trip. Take all waste out of the area to recycling points.
  • Biodegradable waste should be placed in a dry toilet or composter, and small amounts of clean paper and cardboard can be used as kindling in a campfire.
