Liminganlahti Nature Centre is closed 1.1.-4.2.2022. The Finnish Nature Centre Haltia is closed 10.1.–1.2.2022. Koli Nature Centre Ukko is closed 1.1.–26.1.2022. Kuusamo Customer Service Karhuntassu is closed 13.1.–31.1.2022.

In other nature centers in Finland, we require the use of a facial mask and keeping the 2 meter distance to other visitors. In addition, there may be requirements to show the Covid pass, and/or the number of visitors can be limited. More information Nature centers. The length of the restrictions depends on the region. The flood destroyed the Vuomakasjoki bridge on the Nordkalott Trail and a new one will be built in 2022. You have to wade across the Vuomakasjoki River.

Welcome to Kilpisjärvi Visitor Centre

Kilpisjärvi sits at the foot of Saana Fell in the middle of the Arctic high-fell area. Kilpisjärvi Visitor Centre's permanent exhibition On the Edge of the Caledonides introduces Malla Strict Nature Reserve, Saana Nature Reserve and Research Area, Käsivarsi Wilderness Area, and the residents of Kilpisjärvi. The Visitor Centre is for all visitors, tourists, fishers, and hikers on the Nordkalott Trail.

When the Centre is closed You can pick up and return the keys for huts in
Reservable wilderness huts: the Customs Station of Kilpisjärvi / upon presentation of the payment receipt.
Rental huts: Neste Kilpisjärvi / upon presentation of the payment receipt.

The services of Fell Lapland Visitor Centre are in use during winter.

Suitability: Suitable for hikers, trekkers, fishers, snowmobile drivers, and families. The exhibition space, customer service, and toilets are accessible to all.

Services: Information on nature, information for hikers, fishing and cross-country traffic permits, reservations and keys to reservation and rental huts in the Käsivarsi Wilderness Area, maps, books, souvenirs, free WiFi, recycling point.
