Safety on hiking

Waste Management

The principles of Hiking Without Littering are practised in Helvetinjärvi National Park. This means that visitors are asked to take with them everything they brought into the area.

There is a dry toilet at the day trip hut. Visitors can leave compost waste in the toilet. Burnable waste may be burnt in the hut's fire place or at the campfire site next to the hut. When there is a forest fire warning in effect you may only light a fire in the hut's fireplace.
