Reservable huts are meant for those travelling by foot, skis or other means of physical movement. These huts may be used for 1 to 2 days by those who have reserved a bed in advance. Commercial use (i.e. guided hikes and tours etc.) of reservable huts is only allowed with special permission from Metsähallitus.

Reservations for 2024 can be made from Tue 2.5.2023 at 12am.

Litter-Free Hetta-Pallas Hiking Trail

The Hetta-Pallas Hiking Trail is officially litter-free and all waste bins has been removed from the trail. Take your own trash out of the terrain to eco-points at the Fell Lapland Visitor Centre or the Pallastunturi Visitor Centre.

The wilderness hut is situated by the Hetta-Pallas Trail, 42 km from Hetta and 13 km from Pallas.

Price and Keys

16,50€ / night / person (incl. VAT 10%).

Keys can be picked up from Pallastunturi Visitor Centre or Fell Lapland Visitor Centre.

Facilities

A stove, a gas cooker, a dry toilet and a wood shed. Basic cookware (pot, frying pan, coffee pot). Bunk beds with mattresses, pillows and blankets. NB! Please, take your own sheets and pillowcase to protect your bedding.

Notices

Please note that it takes some time before the hut is properly warm.

The peak seasons for this hut are Easter holidays and the autumn´s ruska season.

Pets are not permitted in the hut.

The building also houses an open wilderness hut for 20 persons.

Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.

Safety on hiking

Waste Management

There are no waste management services at the hut. The goal of the National Park is to be a litter-free area and hikers are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas, Pallastunturi Visitor Centre and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
