The wilderness hut is situated by the Hetta-Pallas Trail, 42 km from Hetta and 13 km from Pallas.

Facilities

A stove, a gas cooker, a dry toilet, a wood shed and basic cooking equipment.

Notices

The peak seasons for this hut are Easter holidays and the autumn´s ruska season.

Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.

The building also houses a reservable wilderness hut for 12 persons.

Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.

When planning camping with a large group of over 10 people, fill in a notification for Metsähallitus (metsa.fi).

Waste Management

The goal of the National Park is to be a litter-free area and hikers are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas, Pallastunturi and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.

For Entrepreneurs

Tourist entrepreneurs operating in national parks or other areas managed by Metsähallitus need a cooperation agreement. A fee is charged for using the routes and service infrastructure for business activities.
