The wilderness hut is situated on the bank of the River Rautuoja on the west side of Outakka Fell near Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park's western boundary. There is no marked trail leading to the hut.

A stove, a gas cooker.
As the location of the hut is remote the hut is not busy. Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it. Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.
The closest recycling point is at Hannukuru Open Wilderness Hut. The goal of the National Park is to be a litter-free area and hikers are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
