The wilderness hut is situated on the Hetta-Pallas Trail 28 km from Hetta and 27 km from Pallas.

Facilities

A stove, a gas cooker, a dry toilet, a wood shed and basic cooking equipment. There is a sauna at the small near-by lake. There is also a reservable hut nearby and a campfire shelter and a camping site.

Notices

In the winter, the well does not work. The water has to be fetched from the stream north of the sauna or melted from snow.

Please, do not wash dishes or yourself closer than 15 m to the well to avoid bacteria to get into the well.

The sauna fee is 10 € / adult, 5 € / child (under 7 years) or for a member of a group (a group is more than 10 persons). Payment in in advance in the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park's visitor centres or in the Eräluvat webshop (verkkokauppa.eraluvat.fi). 

We suggest the following arrangement; women use the sauna during even-numbered hours and men during odd-numbered hours. This way everyone will get a chance to go.

The peak seasons for this hut are Easter holidays and the autumns ruska season.

Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.

There is a reservable wilderness hut for 24 persons located 200 meters from the open wilderness hut.

Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.

Waste Management

There are no waste management services at the hut. The goal of the National Park is to be a litter-free area and hikers are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas, Pallastunturi Visitor Centre and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre.  Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
