Restaurants and shops
Huts and a Campfire Site
- Lighting campfires is prohibited in Malla Strict Nature Reserve.
- At Kuohkimajärvi open and reservable wilderness hut there is a gas cooker for cooking food.
- The maintained campfire site in Kuohkimajärvi is not in use at the moment.

Drinking Water
- Water in the area is usually drinkable, but on hot summer days it is recommended to boil the water first.

Waste Management
- There are usually no waste collection bins along the trails, so you must take care of waste disposal yourself. This means that it is the responsibility of each hiker to bring the waste that accumulates during the trip back to a recycling point. Biodegradable waste should be placed in a dry toilet or composter, and small amounts of clean paper and cardboard can be used as kindling in a campfire.

Camping
- Camping is prohibited in Malla Strict Nature Reserve, but pitching a tent is allowed in the Kuohkimajärvi open and reservable wilderness hut grounds.
Open and Reservable Wilderness Huts
- You may stay for one or two nights at an open wilderness hut; for more detailed information see the Open wilderness huts pages.
- Reservable wilderness huts may be reserved for up to two nights during the high season.
- The cost of an overnight stay in the hut is 16,50 € per person.
- Hut reservations: Fell Lapland Visitor Centre or Kilpisjärvi Visitor Centre.

- At the Three Nations' Border Point, on the northeastern shore of Lake Kuohkimajärvi, about 100 metres from the Norwegian border.

- Rental cabins are available through the local entrepreneurs, and caravan sites with a power connection are available as well, and there is one hotel in the village of Kilpisjärvi.

Accessible Services
- Kilpisjärvi Visitor Centre is accessible by wheelchair. There is an accessible toilet in the visitor centre. Hiking routes in Malla Strict Nature Reserve are not suitable for the physically challenged.
Other Services in the Surrounding Area
- The nearest banks, cash points, medical centres and pharmacies are located in Hetta, the municipal centre of Enontekiö, and in the village of Muonio.
- There is a medical centre in Karesuvanto.
- Kilpisjärvi village has a service station and a shop as well as points for permit sales, postal services and pharmacy services. Transportation services (taxi, boat and plane services, car transport service) are also available.
