Liminganlahti Nature Centre is closed 1.1.-4.2.2022. The Finnish Nature Centre Haltia is closed 10.1.–1.2.2022. Koli Nature Centre Ukko is closed 1.1.–26.1.2022. Kuusamo Customer Service Karhuntassu is closed 13.1.–31.1.2022.

In other nature centers in Finland, we require the use of a facial mask and keeping the 2 meter distance to other visitors. The Liminka Bay Visitor Centre is located in Liminka, roughly 35 km from the centre of Oulu and 5 km from the centre of Liminka, towards Lumijoki. Signposts from Highway 8. The nearest airport is Oulu Airport, located in Oulunsalo, some 15 kilometres southwest of the centre of Oulu. The nearest railway station is located in Oulu, the distance to which is 34 kilometres.

By Coach to Liminka Bay

There are several coach connections that run daily between Oulu and Liminka. The nearest coach station is located in Liminka. From Liminka, there are connections to Raahe and Lumijoki. The visitor centre is located along this route.

If taking Oulu public transport bus 53, the nearest bus stop is about 500 metres from the visitor centre. Check timetables on the Oulu public transport website (

By Car to Liminka Bay

Liminka Bay Visitor Centre parking area. Rantakurvi 6, 91900 Liminka. Space for about 30 cars. The parking area also includes 2 spaces for disabled parking. During winter maintenance, the parking area may have less capacity.

On Foot and on Skis

You can walk or cycle to the visitor centre from the main areas of Liminka and Lumijoki. In winter, you can get to the visitor centre from the Liminka and Kempele town centres and from the Rantakylä recreational area on skis.
