Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas

The visitor centre is closed from 2 May to 3 July 2022 due to renovations. Service by telephone and email on Mon – Fri at 9am–4pm. You can buy fishing permits here (eraluvat.fi). Parking is closed too. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Welcome to Yllästunturi Visitor Centre

A visit to the Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas is a holiday must for every visitor to Ylläs. Our customer service will guide you to the attractions of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park and its finest hiking trails. The free ‘Meän elämää’ exhibition at the Visitor Centre introduces visitors to local nature and culture. You can also visit the changing art exhibitions and the Logging Museum. The Visitor Centre is accessible and suitable for families with children.

Gateway to the Fells and Trails

Location: In the municipality of Kolari in Western Lapland, by a scenic road in the wilderness between the villages of Ylläsjärvi and Äkäslompolo. Read more.

Visit: There is no entrance fee to the visitor centre. Guided group tours cost 50 €/group/hour and they must be booked in advance. Read more.

Things to Do and See: Meän elämää (Our Life) exhibition, events, short films, and video presentations on nature and culture, Kellokas Gallery and Our Gallery, Kino Kellokas movie theatre, a Logging Museum, outsider art yard, nature trails, and guided tours. Read more.

Suitability: Excellent for families with children. Part of the services are suitable for people with disabilities with the help of an assistant and also suitable for prams. Pet friendly Visitor Centre and Restaurant.

Services: Nature shop, fishing and hunting permits, Restaurant Halla (arcticexpereince.fi), conference services, nature education, tourist information services in the Ylläs and Kolari areas, Ylläksen Matkailuyhdistys ry, free WiFi, recycling point. Read more.
