Excursion Harbours

Please note that motor boating is allowed only in the northern part of the park. The two small excursion harbours on Pitkäsaari Island are the only harbours inside Kolovesi National Park which can be reached by motor boat. In addition the starting point for Mäntysalo Nature Trail is accessible by motor boat.

    • The excursion harbour at the south end of the island opens to the SW and is situated on cliffs. It is accessible by keelboat or motor boat.
    • Excursion harbour: information board, canoe pier, campfire site (Pick up firewood from the nearby fireplace, 150 m), picnic table and benches and dry toilet as well as tent bases.
  • Pyylinoja (62°16,47' 28°44,62'), at the bend at the mouth of the River Pyylinjoki

    • Excursion harbour: campfire site, lean-to shelter and dry toilet
  • Lapinniemi (62°16,39' 28°48,87'), on the south shore of Cape Kotalahti
    • Located in the area where use of motor boats is forbidden
    • Excursion harbour: information board, canoe pier and dry toilet as well as tent bases.
  • Laajakaarre (62°15,64' 28°51,44'), on the east shore of Lapinselkä
    • Located in the area where use of motor boats is forbidden
    • Excursion harbour: information board, canoe pier and dry toilet. To this place we don´t bring firewood anymore because of the lack of resources. Use your own camp stowe when making meals. 
  • Syväniemi (62°14,34' 28°48,83'), at an island off the southeast corner of the cape
    • Located in the area where use of motor boats is forbidden
    • Excursion harbour: information board, canoe pier, 2 campfire sites and dry toilet.
  • Kirkkoranta (62°14,19' 28°53,52')
    • Located in the area where use of motor boats is forbidden
    • Excursion harbour: information board, canoe pier and boat launch spot. Campfire site and toilet with facilities for the disabled.
  • Hirviniemi (62°13,31' 28°54,21'); the west shore of the cape
    • Located in the area where use of motor boats is forbidden
    • Excursion harbour: information board, canoe pier with railing, 2 campfire sites and dry toilet. The harbour has hand railing to make it easier to move around.
  • Vaajasalo (62°12,51' 28°54,26')
    • Located in the area where use of motor boats is forbidden
    • Excursion harbour: information board, canoe pier, campfire site, picnic table and benches and dry toilet as well as tent bases.
  • Lohilahti Bay (62°12,52' 28°55,17'); east side. closest to Nahkiassalo Nature Trail
    • Located in the area where use of motor boats is forbidden
    • Excursion harbour: information board, campfire site, picnic table and benches, tent bases and dry toilet. A connecting trail to Nahkiassalo Nature Trail.
  • Lohilahti Bay (62°12,47' 28°55,09'); west side
    • Located in the area where use of motor boats is forbidden
    • Excursion harbour: information board, canoe pier, campfire site, picnic table and benches and dry toilet as well a connecting trail to Nahkiassalo Nature Trail.
  • Käkövesi (62°10,79' 28°54,75')
    • Excursion harbour: information board, cooking shelter, dry toilet and a boat launch spot.
