Aurora, Rental Hut

Aurora, Rental Hut, 40-50 persons. In the same building there is a day-use hut.

You can book the Aurora hut near the Saariselkä tourist resort to host events or parties. Aurora is located along a marked and illuminated trail, approximately 700 metres from the Saariselkä entrance gate. There is an open day-use hut and a large, shared terrace at the other end of the hut. There are two campfire sites and a dry toilet outside.

Minimum  reservation time is 2 hours. 
December - April and September 50€/h (incl. VAT 24%).
May - August and October - November  30€/h (incl. VAT 24%).
 

Keys

You can pick up the keys at the following places

the key drop box in Kiilopää

When collecting the key from Saariselka or Kiilopää, you get instructions for collecting the key from Urho Kekkonen National Park Customer Service. Contact customer service 3-5 weekdays before you collect the key (ukpuisto@metsa.fi, 020 6397200).

Ivalo Customer Service is open monday and tuesday. Outside opening hours, the key can be collected from the key box at all key collection points by appointment. If you intend to collect the key after opening hours, contact the key collection point 3-5 weekdays before the key collection date.

The key can be returned to any of the locations mentioned.

 

Facilities

  • A table and benches.
  • A wood-burning stove.
  • A campfire site, a dry toilet and a woodshed.
  • Electricity.
  • Air conditioning.
  • A large terrace.
  • Take toilet paper and drinking water with you.

Notices

  • The hut is accessible.
  • When leaving the hut, remember that it has to be clean and ready for the next visitors. For neglecting the final cleaning, we charge a cleaning fee of 250 euros. 
  • Pets are not permitted in the hut.
  • Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
  • Overnight stays are not possible.
