The hut is situated on the east side of Yllästunturi Fell 4.8 km from Lake Ylläsjärvi in the direction of Latvamaja, 100 m off the hiking trail.

Facilities

A fireplace, a dry toilet and a wood shed.

During winter water can be taken from a nearby stream and during summer from a spring. The water must be boiled before you drink it.

Notices

Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.

Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.

Waste Management

There are no waste management services at the hut. The goal of the National Park is to be a litter-free area and hikers are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas, Pallastunturi Visitor Centre and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
