Welcome to Korvatunturi Visitor Centre in Savukoski

Korvatunturi Visitor Centre in Savukoski is located in the home region of Santa Claus. The centre introduces the tranquil and thriving wilderness of Urho Kekkonen National Park, Kemihaara, and surrounding areas. Visitors are informed of the fishing and hiking opportunities in the region: hiking and ski trails, fell huts, and other hiking services. The tourist information point of the municipality of Savukoski also operates in the visitor centre.

Opening Hours 2019

Mon-wed 11 am– 3 pm, Thu-Sun closed.

From the 27th of May onwards:

Tue-thu 11 am – 3 pm, Fri – mon closed.

Exceptions in opening hours:

Visitor Centre is closed on Ascencion Day 30.5. and entirely on week 25 (18.-20.6.)

We reserve the right to make changes to the opening hours.

Suitability: Excellent for families with children. The exhibition is accessible to all, and the building has a toilet for the disabled.  

Services: Tourist and hiking information, nature shop, reservations and keys to huts in the Urho Kekkonen National Park and Kemihaara and Tuntsa Wilderness Areas, facility rental, and fishing, hunting, and snowmobile track permits.
