Guohkkemašjávri / Kuohkimajärvi Open Wilderness Hut
The use of open wilderness huts and campfire huts is also restricted. The maximum number of persons allowed in bigger huts is 6 persons and in small ones 4 persons.

The hut is located along the Nordkalott Trail, near the borders of three countries, to the north of Lake Kuohkimajärvi. The Norwegian border is about 100 m from the hut.
A stove, a gas cooker and essential cooking utensils. A dry toilet and a woodshed outside the hut.
Near the Open Wilderness Hut is the Kuohkimajärvi Reservable Wilderness Hut.
Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.
Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper. Camping is only allowed in the immediate vicinity of the open wilderness hut.
Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi, Pallastunturi and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre. Read more about Hiking without Littering.
