The Emblem of Gulf of Finland National Park - Black GuillemotIn spring huge flocks of arctic geese and waterfowl pass through these waters on their way northeast, creating an amazing natural spectacle. In the summer the area's old fishing villages come to life, and visitors can hear tall tales of trading, smuggling and wartime exploits from days gone by.

Suitability: Particularly suitable for boaters, and hikers in good condition, because the terrain is mostly difficult. No services for visitors with mobility difficulties.

Services: On Ulko-Tammio island, there is a pier and a guide on duty on weekends in June–July. Campfire sites, camping sites, open wilderness huts, dry toilets. In the National Park, boaters may go ashore in natural harbours, excursion harbours, guestharbours and service harbours. Regular passenger boat service from the town of Hamina to the island of Ulko-Tammio on weekends in June–July.

  • Maretarium in the town of Kotka, a guest harbour, camping site and Nature Information Hut on the island of Kaunissaari and a Nature Information Hut in Haapasaari. Services of cooperating partners are also available. Read more

Trails: A nature trail (3km) on Ulko-Tammio island and a cultural nature trail (1.6km) on Mustaviiri island. Read more
