Niilanpää Reindeer Herders Hut, Day-use Hut

Location

• Northern Lapland, Municipality of Sodankylä (sodankyla.fi), Urho Kekkonen National Park.
• Niilanpään porokämppä, coordinates: Euref-Fin (~ WGS84) lat: 68° 19.0945' lon: 27° 30.7809'  ETRS-TM35FIN: N: 7578434 E: 521151
• The closest huts are the Rautulampi Day-use Hut, the Rautulampi Open and Reservable Wilderness Hut and Suomunruoktu Open and Reservable Wilderness hut.
•  You can get to the hut on foot or by skis from several starting points (pdf 659kt).

Facilities    

• A table and benches.
• A wood-burning stove
• There's no lighting in the hut, please bring your own candles.
• There is a smoke alarm in the hut, but we recommend bringing your own device with you.
• A campfire site, a dry toilet and a woodshed
• Drinking water can be taken from the River Kaarreoja, which is 400 meters away.

Notices

• The hut is situated on a marked hiking trail. . 
• Overnight stays are not possible.
• You can camp by the campfire sites.
• The hut is not suited for the disabled.
• When leaving the hut, remember that it has to be clean and ready for the next customers.
• The hut is situated on a marked hiking trail. The nearest shops and restaurants are located in Saariselkä and in Kiilopää. 
• Please note that it takes some time before the hut is properly warm.
• Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.
• Hiking Without Littering.
• Safety on hiking.
