Piälppáávuonâ / Pielpavuono Campfire Hut

Due to the serious Covid-situation Regional State Administrative Agency in Lappland has made decisions on restrictions. Metsähallitus limits the number of visitors to 6 (at huts that normally have room for over 10 persons).The restriction is valid until January 22, 2022.

The campfire hut is located at the northern end of Pielpavuono Fjord in the western part of Lake Inari.


  • A fire pit.

  • Boating base. The boating entrepreneur will take customers to Pielpavuono on request.
  • A 2.4 km marked trail leads from the campfire shelter to Pielpajärvi Wilderness Church.
  • Safety on hiking.
  • There is a recycling point at the campfire hut, but hikers are asked to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.

Outdoor Etiquette

2. Mainly use marked trails.

3. Camp only where it is allowed.

4. Light your campfire only where it is allowed.
