Northern Lapland Region, Municipality of Enontekiö, Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park

The wilderness hut is situated by the Hetta-Pallas Trail, 40 km from Hetta and 15 km from Pallas.

During mid-winter the wilderness hut is cold.

Water can be taken from the brook but it is recommended to boil or filter it before use.

The peak seasons for this hut are Easter holidays and the autumn´s ruska season. The hut is also used by reindeer herders.

Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.

Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.

Waste Management

There are no waste management services at the hut. The goal of the National Park is to be a litter-free area and hikers are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas, Pallastunturi Visitor Centre and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre.  Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
