The open wilderness hut is situated on the east bank of the River Sotajoki about 350 m from the River Ivalojoki.

The wilderness hut was named after Toivo Liljeqvist an engineer from Lahti. He was the head of a group who were gold prospectors at the River Ivalojoki.




Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.
The wilderness hut is in use from the beginning of June to the end of September.

Waste Management

Visitors are responsible for their own waste. There are no waste bins at the hut and visitors are asked to take their own waste out of the wilderness area. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
