The wilderness hut is situated on the west shore of the lake which is on the south side of Haltitunturi Fell. It is approximately 1,5 km from Nordkalott Trail.

Facilities

A stove and a gas cooker. A woodshed and a dry toilet outside the hut. 

Notices

Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.

About 300 metres from this hut is a building which houses a newer open wilderness hut (8 persons) as well as a reservable wilderness hut (13 persons).

Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.

Firewood should only be used for heating the cabin, not for outdoor fires.

Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi, Pallastunturi and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
