Nature's Moods and Moments - Konsta Punkka's Photos at the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park Visitor Centres

A special photo exhibition will open in Fell Lapland for the summer. The images of Konsta Punkka, one of Finland's most world-renowned nature photographers, take us on a journey into Finnish nature, from the awakening of spring to the abundance of autumn and from one visitor centre to another. The young photographer's exhibition will open on the European Day of Parks (24 May) in the three nature centres of the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park at the same time, culminating on Finnish Nature Day (31 August).

The images of Konsta Punkka convey a particularly close relationship with nature and his exceptional ability to get close to the subject. A real sense for nature and sensitivity in capturing images clearly shine through in all of Punkka's images, making the viewer stop and think. Who is actually being observed - the animal subject or the photographer?

Dozens of Photos in Three Visitor Centres

Opening on 24 May at the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park Yllästunturi Visitor Centre in Kellokas, Pallastunturi Visitor Centre and Fell Lapland's Nature Centre in Hetta, the exhibition will display nature photos of Konsta Punkka in Finland. The theme of the European Day of Parks is Our Natural Treasures.

The photographs selected for each visitor centre form a whole. In order to see the entire exhibition, you must go through the national park from Ylläs to Pallas and Hetta, or vice versa. The photographic exhibition of tunnel-like landscapes and photographer's masterpieces gives you free access throughout the summer. The exhibition finale falls on Finnish Nature Day (31 August), when Punkka himself will visit all three Nature Centres to talk about his photographs and work.
