You can set off on your hike on Tapion taival Trail at either it's southern end at Lakonkangas parking area or at its north end at Hoikantie parking area. Please note that in Koivusuo Strict Nature Reserve hikers must stay on the marked trail and entering the border zone is forbidden without a permit to do so. The undemanding Tapion taival can be hiked from spring through autumn when the ground is unfrozen.

  • Lakonkangas parking area
  • Polvikoski parking area
    • Hikers can get to the trail's halfway point from Polvikoski. There is also a rental cabin in the area.
    • From Polvikoski parking area there is a 100 metre long road to Polvikoski campfire site, which is accessible by wheelchair. There is a dry toilet for the disabled at the campfire site. This is the only portion of Tapion taival Trail which is suited for the disabled.
  • Hoikantie parking area

  • Polvikoski campfire site - Hoikantie parking area, 7,0 km
