    • The harbour is sheltered by straits, and it is located in the western part of Lake Pihlajavesi, in the beautiful archipelago near the large Kokonselkä open water area.

  • Pakarhiekka (61°42,8' 28°59,8'), the southern shore of Pakarniemi cape on Kongonsaari Island
    • A long and narrow open water area of Kongonselkä opens up to south.

  • Cape Pääskyniemi (61°42,9' 28°58,1'/58,6'), the southern shore of the cape on the western side of Kongonsaari Island
    • The harbour is located on a beautiful sandy beach, sheltered by a big cliff.

  • Mitinhiekka (61°41,7' 28°58,35'), the northern shore of the southeastern cape on Pesolansaari Island
    • The western side of Pesolansaari Island faces the large open water area of Paatisenselkä.

  • Mustasaari Island (61°38, 95' 29 °07,1'), the northern end
    • The southernmost harbour on Lake Pihlajavesi. The island with its shallow harbour is located on the western edge of the open water area of Hirvolanselkä, near the southern end of Kongonsaari Island.

    • Mooring at the small boat stage of the sheltered harbour.

    • On the western side of the island, you find great scenery towards the large open water area of Kokonselkä.

  • Cape Peltoniemi / Haukiniemi (61°45,65' 29°03,96'), the northern end of the western part of Cape Turkinniemi

    • Taikinasaari Island is located in the eastern part of Lake Pihlajavesi, halfway between the town of Savonlinna and the centre of the municipality of Punkaharju.

Sights:

  • There is a part of the Finnish Salpa-line fortification in the southern end of Kongonsaari Island (61°39,44' 29°05,38').
    • The Salpa-line fortification was built after the Winter War (in 1940 - 41 and 1944) to secure the eastern border of Finland.
