Tankavaara Visitor Centre

Welcome to Tankavaara Visitor Centre

Tankavaara Visitor Centre, on the outskirts of Urho Kekkonen National Park, is a traditional visitor centre introducing the nature, history, and current use of the Park: the magnificent hiking and ski trails, warmth of the fell huts, the thriving reindeer breeding tradition, and open fell wilderness areas. Nature trails can be accessed directly from the visitor centre's yard. Along the trails, visitors can encounter owls and capercaillie and visit the remnants of the World War Two-era German Schutzwall military post.
