The hut is located 4 km west of Tulppio (walk along a path).

The hut has been protected and restored by the National Board of Antiquities. It is a log cabin that was built during the logging activities headed by Hugo Richard Sandberg, the "Old Man Samperi", in the early 20th century.

In 1993, the buildings that dealt with the mechanised logging activities headed by Sandberg at Tulppio were classified as a nationally significant cultural environment.
