The hut is located along the hiking trail, around 4 km to the west of Koivuselkä Open Wilderness Hut.

An older hut can be found near the wilderness hut which has been renovated from a logging hut's sauna. It is meant for temporary use only.

There is a maintained campfire site and dry toilet at the wilderness hut.                                                                     

There are two beds that can be converted to fit 4 persons.                                                                                                       

The hut does not have a water supply. Surface water, for example from streams, should be boiled before drinking, as water quality varies between different areas.

Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.
