The wilderness hut is situated about 300 m west of the Muonio - Kittilä municipal boundary, on the east side of the Lake Äkäsjärvi on the northern edge of Pahtavuoma Mire, along the Ylläs - Pallas Trail.

Facilities

Fireplace, a dry toilet and a wood shed.

Notices

Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.

Water can be taken from the spring but it must be boiled before use.

Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.

Safety on hiking

Waste Management

There are no waste management services at the hut. The National Park is a litter-free area and hikers are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas, Pallastunturi Visitor Centre and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
