The wilderness hut is situated 1 km east of the Hetta-Pallas Trail on the trail leading to Ketomella. The hut is 20 km from Hetta and 37 km from Pallas.

A stove, a gas cooker and basic cooking equipment; pot, frying pan, coffee pot.
Tappuri Open Wilderness Hut has been renovated in June 2007. The peak seasons for this hut are Easter holidays and the autumn´s ruska season. The wilderness hut is located close to the Näkkälä herding co-operative's reindeer fence and is therefore often used by herders. Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it. Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.
The closest recycling points are to the north at Pyhäkero Open Wilderness Hut and to the south at Hannukuru Open Wilderness Hut.The goal of the National Park is to be a litter-free area and hikers are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
