The trail starts from the parking area on the northern bank of the river, roughly 300 m from the road bridge across the Kiiminkijoki River.
There is a roughly 300-m trail with duckboards over the wet patches following the course of the Kiiminkijoki River, which is maintained by the Särkijärvi Village Committee. There are several bridges that make passage easier.
Services: A campfire site and lean-to at the end of the trail.
Kurimonkoski rapids is located along the 170-km canoeing route that follows the course of the Kiiminkijoki River.

Services: At the Kurimonkoski rapids, the landing site for boats is located on the northern bank between the parking area and the campfire site. The landing site has a concrete boat ramp.
