Hämeenkangas is located on the border of North-Satakunta and Pikanmaa. It is 75 - 80 km from both Pori and Tampere.

By Car

From the south: From main road 3 (Tampere - Vaasa) turn left at Ikaalinen onto road 261 towards Jämijärvi. Follow the road for about 20 km and turn left onto road 2613. From the intersection it is approximately 6 km to the Jämi aviation and tourist centre. From road 2613 a road you can also turn onto a road leading to Kuninkaanlähde via the villages of Polja and Vilhu.
From the north: From main road 3 (Vaasa - Parkano) turn right 2 km after Parkano onto road 23 (Kankaanpää - Pori). Drive for 19 km and turn left onto road 2603 to Jämijärvi. Drive for 10 km and turn left at the T-shaped intersection onto road 261. Drive for 2 km and turn right onto road 2613. From the intersection it is approximately 6 km to the Jämi aviation and tourist centre. From road 2613 a road you can also turn onto a road leading to Kuninkaanlähde via the villages of Polja and Vilhu.
From the west: When heading to Kuninkaanlähde take road 23 to Kankaanpää and then turn right onto road 44 towards Lavia. Drive for about 4 km and turn left towards Kuninkaanlähde. When going to the Jämi aviation and tourist centre take road 23 to Niinisalo and then turn onto road 261 towards Jämijärvi. Follow the road for 15 km and turn right onto road 2613. From the intersection it is approximately 6 km to the Jämi aviation and tourist centre.
Please note that driving through the Niinisalo garrison area is forbidden.

Coaches (matkahuolto.fi) travel to Kankaanpää from the directions of Tampere, Parkano and Pori. From Kankaanpää there is in turn a coach to Lavia. There is a stop at the intersection for Kuninkaanlähde.
From the direction of Tampere there are also coaches (matkahuolto.fi) to Jämijärvi. There is no coach from the Jämijärvi village to the Jämi aviation and tourist centre, so visitors must either hike the distance (6 km) or take a taxi.

There are three parking areas in Hämeenkangas. Two of these are starting points for hiking and ski trails; they are Kuninkaanlähde and the Jämi aviation and tourist centre. You may also leave your car at the military home's parking area, but it is not a starting point for any trail. During winter however it is only just under a kilometre from a ski trail's starting point.
